Bettye H. Galloway was born in Lafayette County, Mississippi; reared, educated, and lived the majority of her life in Oxford. Bettye retired from state employment (primarily at the University of Mississippi) after 30 years and as executive vice president of a drug testing laboratory after 20 years.
